Ny bog fra Harry Potters mor

1. november 2007, 13:55 Af MAGGIE SVARSTAD maggie@bt.dk

1. november 2007, 15:13 Af MAGGIE SVARSTAD maggie@bt.dk

Bare at se dem kysse gør mit hjerte.

Verdict due on Madrid train bombs

Security forces are on alert before a Spanish court delivers its verdict on the March 2004 Madrid train bombings, the country's largest terror trial.

A three-judge panel will read out its verdict and sentences at 1100 (1000 GMT) on Wednesday.
Twenty-eight men faced trial over the devastating nail-bomb blasts that hit four commuter trains, killing 191 people and injuring more than 1,500.
All the accused pleaded innocent during the four-month trial.

'Doubts remain'
The defendants - 19 mostly Moroccan Arabs and nine Spaniards - face charges including murder, forgery and conspiracy to commit a terrorist attack over the 11 March 2004 blasts.
The top eight defendants each face nearly 39,000 years in jail if found guilty on all charges, but under Spanish law the maximum sentence for terrorism is 40 years.

Spanish investigators say the accused were part of a local Islamist militant group inspired by al-Qaeda, but had no direct links to the terror organisation.
Fourteen of the accused went on hunger strike during the trial, in protest against what they called unjust accusations against them.
Seven suspected ringleaders died in a suicide blast in a Madrid apartment three weeks after the attacks.
Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero says he hopes the ruling will "give a definitive answer to those who have put forth absurd and despicable doubts about 11 March".
Many Spaniards still have serious doubts about who was behind the attacks, says the BBC's Danny Wood in Madrid.
Some theories - supported by a number of victims - suggest they were part of a coup d'etat involving Spain's secret services.
But many others believe the verdict will clear up such doubts, and regard it as a key step towards recovery, our correspondent says.
Memorial services are planned for a week after the verdict.

Warning over net address limits

Internet Service Providers urgently need to roll out the next generation of net addresses for online devices, internet pioneer Vint Cerf has said.

Every device that goes online is allocated a unique IP address but the pool of numbers is finite and due to run out around 2010.
A new system, called IPv6, has been awaiting roll out for 10 years.
Unless IPv6 is switched on in the coming years, some devices might not be able to go online, Mr Cerf has warned.
Mr Cerf, who played a key role in the development of the protocols which underpin the global net, said: "There is a risk of not being able to get online."
He added: "The rate of consumption of available remaining IPv4 numbers appears to be on track to run out in 2010/11."
Mr Cerf is about to step down as chairman of Icann, the body which oversees the net, and is also Google's chief internet evangelist.
Potential shortage
The current system, called IPv4 provides four billion addresses but the explosion in the number of devices which go online has led to the potential shortage.
Although IPv6 was standardised 10 years ago it has not been rolled out at speed.
While modern computers, servers, routers and other online devices are able to use IPv6, internet service providers have yet to implement the system.
"The reason they haven't - which is quite understandable - is that customers haven't asked for it yet," said Mr Cerf, adding, "my job, whether with my Icann hat on or not, is to persuade them to ask for it.
"If you don't ask for it, then when you most want it you won't have it."
IPv6 will create 340 trillion trillion trillion separate addresses, enough to satisfy demand for decades to come.
"To be clear - if we finally exhaust the IPv4 pool it doesn't mean the internet stops working. But people wanting an IPv4 address won't get one. "
"If there is an internet that does not support IPv6, not getting an IPv4 address means not getting on the net."
He added: "The appreciation of the importance of getting IPv6 into operation is very much more visible than before.
"I'm anticipating in 2008 a substantial increase of use of IPv6, introduced in parallel with IPv4."
One complicating factor is that IPv6 and IPv4 are not compatible so ISPs will have to run the two systems in parallel - adding to costs.
In Asia, governments in China, Korea and Japan have begun to lead roll out of IPv6 and the European Union is reviewing methods to encourage adoption.

Court grants Spears child visits

Britney Spears can have three monitored visits a week with her two small sons, a US court commissioner has ruled.

But the pop star must undergo random weekly drug and alcohol tests and continue to receive parenting classes.
Ms Spears' ex-husband Kevin Federline was granted full custody of Sean Preston, aged two, and one-year-old Jayden James on 1 October.
In September, the same court official cited Ms Spears' "habitual, frequent and continuous" drugs and alcohol use.
Scott Gordon has previously granted Ms Spears visitation rights only to suspend them on her failure to comply with court orders. He later restored the visits, but on condition they were attended by a court-approved monitor.
In Tuesday's ruling Ms Spears was granted two afternoons and one full night per week with her two sons.
But as conditions for the visits to take place, she was also ordered to childproof her house, work out a schedule for the visits with Mr Federline, and use car seats when driving her children around.
'Chaotic'
The judgement comes after a three-hour hearing last Friday, which both Ms Spears, 25, and Mr Federline, 29, attended.
Detailed testimony was presented, from Ms Spears' parenting coach Lisa Hacker among others. Ms Hacker's report concluded that the singer loved her sons and that they were bonded to her.
But it also criticised Ms Spears, calling the atmosphere at her home "chaotic" and saying she rarely played with or spoke to the boys.
"It seems that her choices are dependent more upon what she wants to do at any given time rather than what would be more enjoyable for the children," Ms Hacker said in her assessment.
A full evaluation of the custody arrangements is not expected to be completed until mid-January, according to news agency Reuters.

Burma army 'recruiting children'

The Burmese army is forcibly recruiting children to cover gaps left by a lack of adult recruits, says a report by a US-based human rights organisation.

Human Rights Watch (HRW) says children as young as 10 are beaten or threatened with arrest to make them enlist.
Burma has previously said it is working towards preventing the recruitment of children by the military.
HRW has urged the UN Security Council to do more to punish Burma over its alleged use of child soldiers.

False documents
The report, entitled "Sold to be Soldiers: The Recruitment and Use of Child Soldiers in Burma" says there are thousands of children in the Burmese military.
It claims that children are approached in public places by military recruiters and civilian brokers who have been promised cash rewards by the military.
The children are often beaten or threatened with arrest to force them to enlist, the report says.
It is claimed that recruiting officers routinely falsify enlistment documents to register children as being 18, the legal minimum age for recruitment.
One child quoted in the report says he was forced to lie about his age when he was recruited for a second time.
"When I said I was 16, I was slapped and he said, 'You are 18, answer 18.'
"I just wanted to go back and home and I told them, but they refused."

'Blatant recruitment'
The child recruits are deployed to battalions after an average of 18 weeks training, the report says.
They are often reportedly sent into combat immediately, or forced to take part in activities, such as burning villages, which can be classified as human rights abuses.
Jo Becker, children's rights advocate for HRW, said Burma is "literally buying and selling children" to fill the ranks.
"The government's senior generals tolerate the blatant recruitment of children and fail to punish perpetrators," she said.
"In this environment, army recruiters traffic children at will."
Ms Becker said that the recent military crackdown had put off many of those potential recruits who were not already deterred by poor conditions and low pay.
"After deploying its soldiers against Buddhist monks and other peaceful demonstrators, the government may find it even harder to find willing volunteers," she said.
The Burmese ruling junta says it has formed a high-level committee to address the issue of child soldiers.
However, Ms Becker described the committee as "a sham", saying the government must address the issue head-on and demobilise all children.

International pressure
There remains widespread international concern about human rights in Burma.
Thousands of people are thought to have been detained following September's military crackdown.
The UN Security Council is due to meet soon to discuss the use of child soldiers in Burma.
HRW has accused the Security Council of not taking any action to address the issue, despite stating repeatedly that it would consider targeted sanctions.
The group has urged the UN to impose travel restrictions and arms embargos if the situation does not improve.
